Coombe Road PTA

Coombe Road School is supported by a thriving PTA, made up of enthusiastic parents and supported by the wonderful staff at the school. We are a registered charity, who run exciting fundraising events for the benefit of the children at school.

Chair: Katy Brown

Katy has two children at the school in years one and three. Katy has no PTA experience, but bags of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude! She is delighted to be leading this wonderful charity and giving back to the school. 

Treasurer: Ant Spencer

Ant has a daughter in year five There is nothing he loves more than keeping things neat, tidy and well organised. Oh, and a good spreadsheet of course! 

Secretary: Claire Clarke

Claire has two children at the school, in year one and year three, who both love Coombe Road School. What she lacks in touch typing skills, she hopes to make up for with enthusiasm and is thrilled to be able to support this lovely, caring school.

Fundraising

We recently supported the school in launching the OPAL (Outdoor Play And Learning) project to help improve the children's wellbeing at playtimes and develop new skills, which is having an impact everyday. We are currently raising funds to support the school create a dedicated music room.

Pre-Loved Uniform Shop

The PTA run an affordable clothing uniform shop once each term for all parents to access. The aim is to help families with the cost of uniform and support the community in being more eco-friendly by reusing clothes. Most items are 50p - £1.

Recent Events:

Two of our parents recently raised nearly £1000 for the school by running a trio of races - the Brighton half-marathon, the Brighton marathon and a 50km ultra-marathon! Milner the dolphin, our school mascot, accompanied them on their adventures.

We held a wonderful Neon disco where the children had a wonderful time! There were some amazing outfits, fabulous face painting and incredible dancing skills on display. This event raised over £600 for the school.

In the summer, we held a dolphin discovery trail event in our local park, where children had to spot the dolphins hiding around the park and solve the puzzle, as well as enjoying some fun crafts. This was a fun event to keep children entertained in the summer holiday for the local community and raised over £150.
