Welcome!

A warm welcome to Otter Class from Mr Cappuccini and Miss Phillips.

Our curriculum

As they move into key stage 2, the children in year 3 continue to learn a broad and balanced curriculumThey continue to develop their knowledge in a range of subjects, including science, history, geography and French. Furthermore, there is greater emphasis on understanding and learning spelling rules and using formal methods of calculation.

The children in year 3 become increasingly independent and confident in their learning and you can find out more about expectations for the year from our overview below:

P.E. days

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE clothes on these two days.

Upcoming events

We continue to try and be as open, supportive and welcoming to parents and carers as possible. As part of this ethos, we hold numerous events for parents and carers throughout the school year but you may wish to note these key dates:

 

Tuesday 6th January - Children return to school

Thursday 8th January - Donate day (see above)

Thursday 8th January - 5:30pm, Invitation to meet our governors about our associate membership of The Pioneer Academy

Monday 26th January - School photos

Tuesday 27th January - 3:15pm to 4:00pm, Meet the teacher and celebrate learning curriculum evening for parents and carers of children in all classes

Monday 9th February - Children's mental health week

Friday 13th February - Last day of the half-term

Planned trips

Otter class have the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic day out at Wakehurst. They will be able to explore the beautiful gardens, create natural art, and study a variety of wildlife, including ducks, pheasants, and even newts and toads. This trip will take place on Thursday 18th September.
