A warm welcome to Seahorse Class from Mr Thornton, Mrs Suleyman and Mrs Whalen.
Our curriculum
As your child continues through year 2, there will be a continued focus on phonics and developing their skills in writing and maths – exploring new concepts, developing their writing stamina and ensuring they have opportunities to work with more independence.

P.E. days
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE clothes on these two days.

Upcoming events
We continue to try and be as open, supportive and welcoming to parents and carers as possible. As part of this ethos, we hold numerous events for parents and carers throughout the school year but you may wish to note these key dates:
Thursday 3rd September – New school year begins and children return to school
Thursday 10th September - Donate Day
Tuesday 15th September – 2:15pm, Year 6 (current year 5) parents and children are invited to a BACA secondary school information evening with the headteacher of BACA at Coombe Road
Wednesday 23rd September – 2:30pm to 3:10pm, New Turtle Class parents and carers are invited to a parent workshop to learn how we teach literacy at Coombe Road.
Wednesday 30th September – 2:30pm to 3:10pm, New Turtle Class parents and carers are invited to a parent workshop to learn how we teach maths at Coombe Road.
Friday 2nd October – 8:55am to 9:25am, EYFS, year 1 & year 2 reading with parents and carers
Tuesday 6th October – 3:15pm to 4:00pm, Meet the teacher and celebrate learning session
Friday 23rd October - Last day of the half-term
