A warm welcome to Sea Lion Class from Mr O'Connor and Mrs Butler.
Our curriculum
In year 4, the children become even more independent and opportunities start to arise where some children can take part in competitive sports events outside of school. In June, they also do a times tables check.
The purpose of the check is to determine whether children can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics, and to help identify children who may need additional support. Our timetable
This is what Sea Lion Class learn and when:
P.E. days
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE clothes on these two days.
Upcoming events
We continue to try and be as open, supportive and welcoming to parents and carers as possible. As part of this ethos, we hold numerous events for parents and carers throughout the school year but you may wish to note these key dates:

Monday 2nd March - The start of ‘Readathon’ (4 weeks)
Tuesday 3rd March - ‘IntoUniversity’ in school to work with years 3 & 4 ‘Careers in action’
Thursday 5th March - World Book Day
Monday 9th March - The start of science week
Wednesday 11th March - Careers Day: BACA visiting Reception to Year 5
Friday 13th March - Science Fair (Parents and carers are invited to join at 2:30pm)
Monday 16th March - 3:50pm to 4:15pm, Parents of children in KS2 drama club are invited to watch
Tuesday 17th March - Parent consultations
Wednesday 18th March - ‘Let’s Dance at the Dome’
Friday 20th March - 2:15pm to 3:15pm (2:30pm start), ‘KS2 Talent Show’
Wednesday 25th March - Dance at Moulsecoomb Leisure Centre
Thursday 26th March - Parent consultations
Friday 27th March - Last day of term
Monday 13th April - Children return to school

Multiplication tables check
In June, children in year 4 participate in the national multiplication tables check.
The purpose of the check is to determine whether your child can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics.
